Schools have been directed to close and remain closed until February half-term except for children of key workers and vulnerable children, as part of the country’s response to the new variant of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Portesham Primary School will provide support in school for;
- the children of critical workers* and vulnerable children
*Please note that the children of those who appear on the critical workers list should only attend if they cannot be looked after at home (for example a parent has to go into work and cannot work from home).
Those children deemed vulnerable include children who are supported by social care, those with safeguarding and welfare needs, including child in need plans, on child protection plans, ‘looked after’ children, young carers, disabled children and those with education, health and care (EHC) plans.
Please contact the school if you require any assistance with remote learning.
Welcome to the new Portesham Primary School Website.
Portesham Primary is a vibrant school; our children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve and progress. The children are at the heart of every decision we make. We want to ensure that every pupil is happy and confident, and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.
Ours is a Church school. Our core Christian values of service, hope, compassion, humility and justice underpin everything that we do and everything that we are.
We are a family. Our dedicated staff team work hard with our Governing Body and parents to maintain high standards in everything we do. This commitment is shared by our local communities who support the school in a variety of ways. Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help them to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum; where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential.
We hope that our new website will give you as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities that our children enjoy through our curriculum and our extra-curricular activities. It will grow over time as we add more information, but can never replace the first-hand experience of coming to visit us. If you would like to visit please give Mrs Whitehead in the School Office a call to arrange a visit.
Very best wishes
