Curriculum Overview
We have now completed our Curriculum Review. In this area of the website you can find information about the curriculum that is delivered in school. We are using a fabulous curriculum planning tool called Cornerstones, which enables us to meet all statutory requirements whilst continuing to shape the curriculum to maximise the impact of children’s interests, local environment, local history, staff expertise, visitors and visits.
Each class has a dedicated area. In this area, you will find a Two Year Rolling Programme that shows all the projects and areas of learning that children will be engaged in each term across the two years. This academic year (September 2021 – July 2022) Is Year A, September 2022 – July 2023 will be Year B.
Staff have created Learning Pathways that give more detail about what will be studied and when. These are also in the dedicated class areas.
More information and about specific subject areas can be found in the Whole School Documentation Tab. This includes a Subject Statement with information about how the sequence of learning for each subject area has been planned, how the subject is taught and what outcomes we are seeking to secure – Intent, Implementation and Impact.
January 2022
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from religious education and should contact the Head of School to ask for this. Parents will be invited to a meeting to discuss withdrawal and to explore how their concern may be met. Parents are not obliged to attend such a meeting in which case withdrawal shall be put into effect immediately and the school will notify the parent.
In accordance with the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Needs and Disability Regulations 2014, the learning in each subject is provided for all pupils in the school, including those with special educational needs.
